Orientation

 

Speak to parents at school wide meeting. Topics to be covered:

  • gift wrap program
  • Randall’s grocery program
  • book fair

Raffle off sample rolls of gift wrap (create your own method of raffle!)

Man table at meeting to sell preschool t-shirts for $12:

·         Pick up and return shirts to office before and after the event.

·         Pick up and return cash box to office.

·         Provide change for cash box ($50 in small bills is usually sufficient)

·         Checks payable to FUMP

August

Orientation

Pick up Randall’s grocery card applications and add FUMP school number to applications for orientation.

August

Gift Wrap

Distribute gift wrap packets and electronic announcements

  • Label packets based on class lists and include due date.  (Class lists can be obtained from the preschool office. One packet per family – please check for siblings)
  • Compose and attach a handout for online sales AND online ordering directions.  The preschool office will make copies.
  • Compose emails for families about ordering information, online links, reminders and deadlines. 
    Please submit to office for review and distribution.

Gift Wrap

Decorate classroom doors/hallways with gift wrap samples and posters. May coordinate with volunteer coordinator to have willing parents participate. (Design is at your discretion!)

Book Fair

Finalize details of book fair. See attached notes for details

 

October

Gift Wrap

Collect packets and submit order to gift wrap representative. 

November

Gift Wrap

Arrange and attend delivery of gift wrap orders. Orders should be delivered on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday to allow timely pick up and avoid weekend storage of items. Contact volunteer coordinator for a listing of parent volunteers to help with distribution.

FUMP Newsletter

 

Compose and submit a brief article for the FUMP newsletter.  The article should address your position on the board and how that area impacts and enriches FUMP.  Your article is due by the 25th of January. This article will be published in the February newsletter. Email submission to preschool@fumcaustin.org

March

Cup and Plate

Get kits from storage closet and make sure all are complete and ready to go.  Draft an email stating deadlines, simple directions, etc.; upon approval the office will distribute email. Once underway, make copies of all artwork with checks attached. Double check each order to make sure correct payment was included. Once fundraiser is complete, organize all artwork, count each group of items and fill out order form. The office will provide specific payment details. Pack box and ship.  Coordinate with volunteer coordinator for parent volunteers to help with distribution, copying, maintenance, etc.

Gift Wrap

Finalize next year’s sale dates with gift wrap representative.

  • Sale dates typically run from the first week of school to mid October to ensure delivery prior to the Thanksgiving Break
  • Arrange for packet delivery by mid-August to preschool
