Room Rep Orientation

Once room reps have been confirmed schedule a room rep orientation meeting to go over tasks of the coming school year.

  • Schedule during preschool hours
  • FUMC child care workers can provide child care with advance notice to Samantha Franklin
  • Notify office of time and date to schedule FUMC work order for room set up and coffee.
  • Request copies of teacher favorites forms to be given to room reps at meeting.
  • Tasks include: organizing class gifts for teacher birthdays and end of year (not Christmas, as we encourage participation in the preschool’s bonus program), bringing three dozen commercially prepared cupcakes for picnics in spring (pending room rep decision).  Also, make room reps aware that the preschool office has a notebook of “teacher favorites” available to assist with selecting gifts and distribute copies.
  • Room reps may be asked by their teacher to assist with various classroom projects (class photos, gardening times) or parent communication as needed.
  • Have each class sign up for a month for garden maintenance (weeding and watering).  They will speak to the teachers and equipment board rep for more information.
  • Room reps may opt to take in funds at the beginning of the year and pay for gifts over time.
  • Cash should not be left in cubbies.  Please have parents make donations in the preschool office.
