First United Methodist Church is an active member in Austin Interfaith, a non-partisan coalition of thirty religious congregations, public schools, and unions who work together to address social issues facing our community. Austin Interfaith works on a range of projects from issues that affect the city as a whole to helping neighborhoods achieve the placement of much needed stop lights. Austin Interfaith was also critical in the FUMC fight to help decrease the number of Sunday morning races and other events that have made getting to church difficult.

AMOS COMMISSION
The Amos Commission is a program sponsored by the Austin District of the Southwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. The program provides training to members of the congregation so that our members can discern what our faith says about social justice issues and then how to advocate for change where change is needed.
