Care Ministry

How Can We Help You?

If you have a loved one to lift up, send us your prayer concerns and we will add that person(s) to our prayer list. Prayer requests can be submitted to our pastoral staff using our online form or emailed to prayer@fumcaustin.org.

Prayer Request

One of First Church’s pastors will be “on call” for emergencies after 6:00 p.m. Thursday through 8:00 a.m. Monday. You may call the church office at (512) 478-5684, press 4, and leave your message in the general mailbox.The pastor on call will check the voice mail box several times a day and will return your call as soon as possible.

System of Care

System of Care

The System of Care is a plan for communications which enables us to become a more loving and caring congregation. The System of Care was initiated to ensure that we effectively communicate needs and that we respond to these needs in a timely and appropriate manner. The elements of the System of Care include the church family, our pastors, and information systems and software. All these components are needed to provide effective communication within the church family, especially information from the church family. We count on you to tell us when you learn of needs among our members. We can only respond when we are made aware of needs within the church family.  

The System of Care needs to include all aspects of the church structure from the Administrative Board, Sunday School classes, Congregational Care Teams, and groups within our church family, both formal and informal, to individual members. Please do your part to help us become a more loving and caring congregation!

Baby Blankets

Just had a new baby? At this special moment in life, our team of knitters and crocheters have a snuggly blanket to share with your baby. Reach out to children@fumcaustin.org and we will deliver one to your home.

Homebound Visitation

Homebound Visitation

Our Silver Link Ministry visits FUMC members who live dependently but are no longer able to attend Sunday School or church. Visits take place on a monthly basis to members who are homebound, in nursing homes, or assisting living facilities.

Our Hospital Visitation Ministry provides daily visitors to church members in local hospitals. 

Prayer Shawls

Prayer Shawls

The Prayer Shawl Ministry knits or crochets shawls that are provided to FUMC members or to individuals requested by FUMC members who are ill or suffering.

Small Group Support

Small Group Support

If you are experiencing grief over the loss of a loved one or a relationship, the loss of a job, divorce, or other life transitions, a small support group may help.
